Thank you to Frank Tranchina for presenting at our March CLE. Our CLE this month will be on April 21st at Dakota Restaurant. Lunch is served at 12 p.m. and the CLE will begin at 12:30 p.m. The cost of the lunch is $28 and the CLE is $15. Please Register & Pay Online or RSVP Judy at if you plan to attend.

Mark your calendars now for the monthly meetings: May 19th, June 16th, July 21st, August 18th, September 15th, October 20th and November 17th (all day CLE).

If you have not already done so, it is time to renew your membership for 2017! To continue to be a member in good standing and receive our newsletter and bar information, the deadline for payment is April 30th. Once your membership form and payment are received, you will be mailed a 2017 membership card. Attached is the membership form.

The Community Outreach section is planning several new events this year and we would like input from everyone interested in belonging to this section. Please mark on your membership form if you would like to receive information about opportunities to get involved in our community. Thank you to our speakers who spoke at our All Day CLE last Friday. I think everyone found it informative and the new venue was well received. Thank you to all who attended and made this CLE a success. We have 5 booklets of the handouts left, if you are interested in purchasing one, contact Judy at, the cost is $20, plus $5 to mail. The 22nd JDC Public Defender’s Office is looking for people to handle misdemeanor and/or juvenile delinquent conflict cases in Slidell City Court, Bogalusa City Court and/or Washington Parish District Court. We are not currently in need of conflict attorneys in St. Tammany Parish or CINC conflict attorneys.

If you have not submitted your information to our online Attorney Directory, you are missing out on potential new clients. We continue to get requests for referrals and this is where we send them. But you must fill out the online form. If you have any questions contact Judy at

  • The directory can be searched by name or practice area.
  • The directory not only allows members to find members, but also allows attorneys outside of our area to find your contact information, and allows the general public looking for an attorney based upon practice area.
  • The bar association receives many calls looking for an attorney, if you are not on the list you will lose out on this opportunity for new clients.

The Basic Listing is included in your annual membership dues, but you must be a member in good standing and fill out the online form.

In addition to the Basic Listing, we are pleased to offer a Premium Listing at the low cost of $50 per year. The Premium Listing includes the same information as the Basic Listing, plus a links to your website, company logo, links to all your social media, map to your office, any additional info about your practice and your photo.
