COMMUNITY OUTREACH

It is an honor to serve as your Community Outreach Section Chair. This section is going to be active with our community this year, so please contact us with any community needs that arise. We plan to spotlight several local nonprofits to raise money for and/or pledge our time to in an effort to assist our community. If you are interested in helping with the projects, please let Judy know so that you can be informed regarding upcoming events.

Southeast Louisiana Legal Services is currently looking for attorneys to take an uncontested 103 divorce with a simple custody agreement for the Northshore Pro Bono Project. They have about a dozen to refer at the moment. If you are interested please contact Cynthia at cbordonaro@slls.org. They appreciate your consideration and continued pro bono support in our community. And don’t forget… pro bono attorneys can earn CLE credit for pro bono representation.

Thank you to all who contributed to the Northshore Food Bank last year. Your gift is so important to helping struggling families on the Northshore be able to have healthy, nutritious meals. Currently, more than 375 families rely on the Northshore Food Bank for food each week. Community support has allowed more than 1,300,000 pounds of food to be distributed in 2016. New families come through the door every day. We hope you will continue to grow with us as we strive to meet the ever increasing needs of individuals and families who rely on the Northshore Food Bank for help. Together we can make a difference. ON LINE DIRECTORY-only 150 Attorneys have signed up for the online Directory.
If you have not submitted your online Attorney Directory, you are missing out on potential new clients. We continue to get requests for referrals and this is where we send them. But you must fill out the online form. If you have any questions contact Judy at judy@22ndjdcbar.org.

  • The directory can be searched by name or practice area.
  • The directory not only allows members to find members, but also allows attorneys outside of our area to find your contact information, and allows the general public looking for an attorney based upon practice area.
  • The bar association receives many calls looking for an attorney, if you are not on the list you will lose out on this opportunity for new clients.

The Basic Listing is included in your annual membership dues, but you must be a member in good standing and fill out the online form.

In addition to the Basic Listing, we are pleased to offer a Premium Listing at the low cost of $50 per year. The Premium Listing includes the same information as the Basic Listing, plus a link to your website, map to your office, and a photo.

Please visit our DIRECTORY to see the various possibilities.
