Thank you to our April CLE speaker, Gary Hanes, of Talley Anthony Hughes and Knight, who spoke on “To Appeal or not to Appeal, that is the Question!”

Our May lunch/CLE is on Friday, May 15th at Keith Young’s Restaurant. Our speaker this month will be Michael Landry, of Stone Pigman in New Orleans, who will be speaking on the “Introduction to the New Louisiana Business Corporation Act.” The lunch begins at noon, and the CLE itself will begin at 12:30. COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Covington Food Bank has reached out to the legal community with a need for certain food items to supplement their growing needs. At this time they are asking for jars of Peanut Butter and dry Cereal. You can bring your donations to the next CLE or contact Judy at judy@22ndjdcbar.org to have your donations picked up.     On May 5th, 2015, thousands of people in Southeast Louisiana will make donations to nonprofits during GiveNOLA Day, hosted by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS), the largest nonprofit civil legal aid provider in Louisiana is celebrating GiveNOLA Day Northshore style with an Open House at its Covington office. SLLS invites all 22nd JDC Bar Association members to their open house on May 5, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. SLLS is located at 423 N. Florida St. Covington, La. 70433.
