ORDER RE: TS/HURRICANE FRANCINE
Acting in accordance with La. Const. Art. V, Sec. I and the inherent power of this Court and considering the emergency created by the expected hazardous weather conditions forecasted for this court’s jurisdictional area in connection with Tropical Storm/Hurricane Francine and, further, in consideration of the unsafe conditions caused therefrom and the Court’s immediate concern for the community’s safety and well-being;
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the 22nd Judicial District Court for the Parishes of St. Tammany and Washington and the St. Tammany Parish Clerk of Court’s office and the Washington Parish Clerk of Court’s office shall be closed Wednesday, September lI, 2024, through Thursday, September 12,2024 and will reopen on Friday, September 13,2024, at 8:30 a.m. unless extended by further order of this Court.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all civil matters, domestic matters, juvenile matters, child support matters, and protective order matters noticed for September 1 I ,2024, and September 12,2024, will be reset and notice given. Any temporary restraining orders expiring on these dates will be extended to the newly assigned court date. Any defendants scheduled to appear in court during September ll, 2024, and September 72,2024, for criminal court, bond court or misdemeanor court, should report to the courthouse by September 20,2024, to be re-served with a new court date. Specialty Court matters scheduled for September I 1 ,2024, and September 12, 2024, in person and by video-conferencing (i.e. via Zoom) are canceled for these dates.
