Speakers:

  • Thomas Mitchell – Executive Director, Children’s Advocacy Center – Hope House
  • Brian Brown – Detective & Forensic Examiner, Covington Police Dept.
  • Judge Patti Oppenheim – 22nd Judicial District Court

Registered participants will receive 2 hours of Family Law CLE credit. Program facilitators will provide an overview of:

  • The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) response model
  • Law enforcement’s collaboration with Hope House in investigating crimes against children
  • The common types of cybercrime victimization observed by law enforcement
  • The Children’s Code as it relates to CAC services for children and families
  • The importance of a trauma-informed response to child abuse experiences
  • Recent legislation affecting the admissibility of forensic interviews in civil proceedings
