Thank you to our July CLE speaker, Ray Ladouceur , who spoke on “Estate Planning for the Modest Estate.”

Our August lunch/CLE is on Friday, August 21st at Keith Young’s Restaurant. Our speaker this month will be Judge Badeaux, who will present a Professinalism CLE. The lunch begins at noon, and the CLE itself will begin at 12:30. The lunch is $25 and the CLE, for members, is $15. Please rsvp judy@22ndjdcbar.org if you plan to attend.

Mark your calendars for the remaining CLE dates:

September 18th: Paul Lea will speak on Medical Liens & Other Personal Injury Subrogations.

October 16th: Rene Frederick and Cameron Mary will speak on Criminal Law 101 from the Defense Perspective.

November 13th is the All Day CLE at the Courtyard Marriott 101 Northpark Blvd. Covington, LA. The speaker line-up will be available soon.

COURT CEREMONY

Opening of Court Ceremony will be September 11, 2015 at 9 am in Misdemeanor Courtroom at St. Tammany Parish Justice Center. Refreshments to follow in 3rd floor jury area.

FAMILY LAW

The next Family Law CLE is August 12th in the 22nd JDC Library at the Covington Courthouse. Our speaker will be Terri Campesta who will speak on “Parental Alienation”. The CLE begins at 9:00 a.m. The cost is $15 for members. Please RSVP Judy at judy@22ndjdcbar.org.

YOUNG LAWYERS

The next Young Lawyer Luncheon/CLE is scheduled for August 5th at 12 p.m. in the Bar Association Library at the Covington Courthouse. This will be a free CLE sponsored by Andrew Hoffman who will speak on “Baby Boomer Divorce”. This includes a light lunch and is limited to the first 20 rsvp’s. The next docket call will be at the Seiler Bar on August 13th at 5:30. This is a great opportunity to socialize and network with all members of the 22nd JDC bar association. Remember your first drink is on the Bar Association.

The 2015 Court Chase 5K and 1 mile fun to support the Youth Service Bureau is set for Saturday, September 12th beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Covington Trailhead. The The registration form and sponsor form are attached.
