William J. Dutel practices law in the area of wills, trusts and estates, corporate formation, corporate management, business sale and acquisitions. He litigates cases in the areas of successions, trusts, corporate and real estate disputes, as well as interdiction cases. He has reported decisions in the areas of trusts, successions, real estate rights such as drainage, servitudes and governmental taking, banking, federal governmental programs, leases, partnership and corporations.

He has an AV Preeminent rating by the national organization Martindale-Hubbell, which is determined by input from his peers and is the highest rating by the organization.

He is a member of the Louisiana 22nd Judicial District Court Bar Association, the Louisiana 22nd Judicial District Court Inns of Court, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

He is also admitted to practice law in the State of Kentucky.

He is a past President of the University of New Orleans Alumni Association.

William J. Dutel received his high school education in New Orleans at De La Salle High School, earned his B.S. degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans and Juris Doctorate from Tulane University. While in school he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Accounting Fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honorary Fraternity and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

He has lived in Covington since 1987.
