Court Closure

The Bar Association will begin monthly CLE’s by Zoom next month. We will have a minimal fee of $10 per CLE. You will be sent an email with the topic and speaker, along with instruction to pay online (there is no additional fee added to pay online). Once you have made the payment you will be immediately sent the link to join the CLE on the date given. If you previously paid for the yearly CLE’s, please let Judy know that you want to attend and you will be sent the link at no additional charge. You must pre-register and pre-pay to receive CLE credit. The deadline to register and pay is two hours prior to the CLE. We are planning to have additional CLE’s to accommodate the Family Law Specialization requirements. A link to register and pay will be sent to you next week. If you have any questions regarding the CLE’s please contact Judy at judy@22ndjdcbar.org.

Our June CLE will take place via Zoom on June 19, 2020 and our speakers will be Patti Oppenheim, Jessica Karr and Damian Marinello and the topic will be Zoom Etiquette and we are hoping that we can get this CLE approved for professionalism credit.

The Zoom backdrop, referenced in the letter from Judge Amacker, is on our website’s homepage at www.22ndjdcbar.org and available for you do download and use as a backdrop for your zoom hearings.

Pugh, Accardo seeks an attorney licensed in Louisiana with a minimum of three years of insurance and workers’ compensation defense and litigation experience. The candidate must have excellent academic credentials (top 30% class rank) and be skilled in the following areas: researching various legal issues; drafting pleadings and memoranda in support of motions; conducting depositions and inspections; appearing in court and arguing motions; and assisting in mediation and trial. First chair and appellate experience a plus. Some travel, almost exclusively within the State of Louisiana, is required.
