DEAR MEMBERS:

Thank you to Judge Jim Lamz who spoke at the October CLE. Our next CLE will be the All Day CLE on Friday, November 15th at the Southern Hotel. This CLE has been approved or 6 CLE credits including Ethics and Professionalism. Below is the schedule and list of speakers:

11:15 – 12:15 “Professionalism” presented by Jessie Wimberly and John Gallaspy
12:15 – 01:15 Lunch: Furnished at the Southern Hotel and included in the price of registration
01:15 – 02:15 “Ethics” presented by Judge Reginald Badeaux
02:15 – 03:15 “Behavior Health and Interdictions” presented by Elizabeth Sconzert & Greg LaCour
03:15 – 03:30 Break
03:30 – 04:30 “The Justice System: Children, Families and the Underserved” presented by Judge Scott Gardner

Registration is essential to prepare for the amount of food and handouts needed so please submit your registration by Friday, November 8, 2019. For members, the cost of this CLE is $200.00, if paid before November 8th; after November 8th the cost is $225.00 and material will be emailed to you after the CLE. For non-members, the cost is $275.00.

Our Christmas Party this year will be Thursday, December 12th at Dakota Restaruant from 7-10 p.m. All current members and a guest are invited to attend.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 20th, starting at 8:00 a.m. at Abita Roasting in Covington. This is not a CLE and breakfast is on you, so come network, collaborate and meet fellow women colleagues in your bar association.

YOUNG LAWYERS

Our next Young Lawyers CLE will be on Wednesday, November 6th with Judge Scott Gardner. This CLE will be especially good if you want to try your direct, cross, and redirect on Judge Gardner himself, who will give a CLE on
“Witness Examination Techniques” in his own Courtroom. A short fact pattern will be distributed to all attendees who will then have an opportunity to conduct a witness examination on Judge Gardner based on the fact pattern.
