February 2022 Newsletter
Dear Members
“If January is the month for change, then February
is the month for lasting change.
January is for dreamers…February is for doers.”
~ Marc Parent
Though short, February is filled with lots of love and sweet surprises. I sure hope all of you are able to put down your “to-do” list and enjoy February’s “must do” list: Super Bowl Sunday (Geaux Joe!), Valentine’s Day and the preface to Mardi Gras, just to name a few!
Speaking of “must-dos,” many thanks to Judges Amacker, Burris, Zaunbrecher, Keller and Oppenheim who served on the presentation panel for our January CLE. It was a very well-attended event and the Judges provided us with some valuable information regarding procedural changes and other relevant updates as we embark upon 2022.
While we had hoped to be start the year with in-person meetings, current circumstances require us to maintain the Zoom format for CLEs for the next couple of months. We plan to resume live CLEs again in April, but our upmost importance is to keep everyone safe. We will keep you informed as things change.
Our February Zoom CLE presenter will be Clerk of Court Melissa Henry, who will speak on “The Unseen Work of the Clerk of Court: Elections Integrity and Commissioning.” If you have any questions you would like to present to Ms. Henry prior to the CLE for discussion during the presentation, please email them to Judy Walz at judy@22ndjdcbar.org no later than Wednesday, February 16th.
The cost for members is $15 and $25 for non-members. Please click on the link below to register and pay for the CLE. You will receive the Zoom log-in link with your paid receipt. The deadline to register for this CLE is 11:00 a.m. on February 18th.
If you paid for the annual CLEs, please let Judy know you would like to view this CLE and the link will be emailed to you the day before the CLE.February 18th CLE:
