Monthly Newsletters

May 2024 Newsletter

From the President…
May is a time to gear up for the end of the school year, graduations, and Mother’s Day. While you enjoy these celebrations and milestones, don’t forget about all that
your 22nd JDC Bar Association has to offer this month!

Our next monthly CLE is Friday, May 17th at Noon at Zea’s Restaurant where we will hear from Kevin Dorsey regarding “Implications of Tech and Social Media on Domestic Violence and Family Court Cases”. For you family law specialists, this has been approved for family law specialization credit. Your lunch choices are Philly Beef Panini or Hummus Platter- don’t forget to make your selection when you register!

May CLE – Register & Pay Online

On June 21st we are proud to welcome Judges Penzato, McClendon and Wolfe from the First Circuit Court of Appeal presenting “Professionalism and the Appellate Bench”. Don’t wait to get that professionalism credit! Your meal selection is Rotisserie Chicken or large House Salad.

June CLE – Register & Pay Online

If you paid for all of the monthly CLEs already, simply register by going to the link and clicking the lunch option that is $35 dollars. The website will notify Reina you have registered. If you plan to attend but are not eating lunch, then email Reina directly to register.

For all who wish to attend, note that if you do not register in advance we cannot guarantee a seat – and spots are available on a first come, first served basis, so don’t procrastinate!

We also want to thank Mark Myers for his captivating CLE on his experience during his 29 years as a mediator. The tips he provided had me thinking about mediation in a different way.

The rest of the year’s monthly CLEs have been scheduled, so be on the lookout for those announcements soon – including two professionalism hours, one ethics hour and some of our very own 22nd JDC and First Circuit Court Judges.

May those April showers (and tornados!) bring you May flowers!

Kristen Stanley-Wallace
