March 2024 Newsletter
From the President…
Spring is almost here and your 22nd JDC Bar Association is working hard to ensure everything is coming up roses! There are a lot of CLEs and membership perks in the works and here are just a few:
Thank you to Douglas Carey dcarey@slls.org, Cynthia Bordonaro cbordonaro@slls.org, Erin Lorio elorio@probono-no.org and Sue Rotolo suer@SaintLukeSlidell.org for a great session regarding Pro Bono work on February 16. If you are interested in getting more involved in the Pro Bono world, these are your people to contact!
March Monthly CLE: March 15th at Zea’s is sure to sell-out, so get your seat early. Judge Scott Schlegel will present “AI in the Justice System” and I know I am looking forward to it. When registering be sure to make your lunch selection: Grilled Chicken Breast or Vegetarian “Zeasar” Salad.
All Day Family Law CLE: The Registration and Agenda are UP on the website- March 22nd from 8:30-4:30 at the Southern Hotel. The day has been approved for 6 hours of Family Law Specialization Credit including Professionalism and Ethics. This one is a don’t miss for family law practitioners, here is your quick link!
March. CLE – Register & Pay OnlineApril 19 Monthly CLE: Mark Myers will join us at Zea for a one hour CLE, “TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL MEDIATIONS (From a 29-year Mediator)” so mark your calendar in advance!
When you do attend our CLEs, please don’t forget to fill out our new evaluation forms. This is so helpful to Reina and your Board in providing you with the services you want and the CLEs you are interested in. I’m excited to say that many of the suggested CLE topics from the last CLE evaluation forms are already in the works.
Professional Headshots: Need new professional photos? Heidi Bowers and The 22nd JDC Bar Association will be providing headshots on April 10th and 11th at the Justice Center in Covington to our membership for only $35. We will update soon with all the specifics and link to register, so read your newsletters. You can’t get headshots this good, this cheap elsewhere, and Heidi is the best! We will also be offering headshots to non-members for $50.
As always, this is YOUR BAR ASSOCIATION, so anything we can do to improve it, please don’t hesitate to let us know! I look forward to seeing you at the next event!
