September 2022 Newsletter
Dear Members,
“Life and time are the two best teachers.
Life teaches us to make good use of time,
and time teaches us the value of life.”
~ Unknown
I don’t know about you all, but August gave way to September all too quickly. And so is the case with life…each day turns into a month, which turns into another year gone by. In our profession, it is easy to get caught up in the minutia of time. However, in order to be truly successful in our trade, we have to strike a balance between quantity of time and quality of time. September, fortunately, offers our members a number of “quality” opportunities in our district and professional community. Below you will find information about our upcoming CLE on September 23rd , the 22nd JDC Opening of Court, annual Red Mass, as well as an endearing volunteer opportunity through the LSBA’s Wills for Heros projects.
Time is fleeting; use it wisely. I encourage you to take advantage of any one or more of these upcoming events. We would love to see you!
*NOTICE – CHANGE OF DATE FOR OUR SEPTEMBER CLE*
Our September CLE has been changed to the 23rd, due to a conflict with the venue; but it will be worth the wait. We are pleased to announce that we will have a Panel of 22nd JDC Law Clerks, led by Becky Mighton, speaking on “Savvy Practice Skills with our Staff Attorneys”. Bring your questions and learn from the experts what the Judges expect in Court.
Lunch service featuring a Chef’s Choice* selection will begin at Noon and the cost is $28. The cost of the CLE is $15 for members, $25 for non-members. Please click on the link below to register and pay for lunch and the CLE. If you paid for the annual CLEs, please click on the link below and pay for lunch only.
