DEAR MEMBERS:

Thank you to Beth Alston, who spoke on “Defending Cases Before the Louisiana Disciplinary Board ” at our March CLE.

Our April lunch and CLE is on Friday, April 17th at Keith Young’s Restaurant. Our speaker this month will be Gary Hanes, of Talley Anthony Huges and Knight, who will be speaking on “To Appeal or not to Appeal? That is the Question.” The CLE/lunch begins at noon, and Keith generally starts serving the meal around 12:15, the CLE itself will begin at 12:30. Please rsvp judy@22ndjdcbar.org if you plan to attend.

The Louisiana Bar Foundation 2015 Gala will be held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans on May 1, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. This Gala will honor one of our own, Retired Judge John W. Greene. The link below is more information and how to purchase your tickets.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The BENCH, BAR & BADGE BUILD benefiting Habitat for St. Tammany West is scheduled for April 17 & 18. We really need people to help build on Friday and Saturday, please contact Judy at judy@22ndjdcbar.org if you are able to help so we can plan for this build. If you are unable to participate but still want to help, the link below will give you ways to do that.

FAMILY LAW
The All Day Family Law CLE will be on May 8th at the Clarion Inn in Covington. The schedule of speakers is almost complete and will be sent out soon.

YOUNG LAWYERS
The first Young Lawyer Judge’s Luncheon/CLE was on Friday, March 27th. Thank you to Judge Badeaux who spoke on “Practical Courtroom Tips.”

Our next Young Lawyer Judge’s Luncheon/CLE is scheduled for June 24th. Judge Devereux will speak on General Motion Practice. Please put this on your calendar and notices will go out when the time gets close.
