Thank you to District Attorney Warren Montgomery who spoke at the September CLE. Our next CLE will be on Friday, October 18th at Dakota Restaurant. Our guest speaker will be Judge Jim Lamz who will speak on “Legal Gumbo of Evidence”.

FAMILY LAW
On October 9th we will have our final Family Law Specialization CLE for the year. The speaker will be Judge Dawn Amacker and her topic is “Community Property Quiz-bowl”. This is a CLE that Judge Amacker had to cancel at the All Day CLE, but feels it would benefit everyone to hear. The CLE will be held at the Northshore Community Foundation, 807 N. Our next Young Lawyers CLE will be on Wednesday, November 6th with Judge Scott Gardner. This CLE will be especially good if you want to try your direct, cross, and redirect on Judge Gardner himself, who will give a CLE on
“Witness Examination Techniques” in his own Courtroom. A short fact pattern will be distributed to all attendees who will then have an opportunity to conduct a witness examination on Judge Gardner based on the fact pattern. This candidate should feel comfortable with:
- PC Law or similar billing systems and the ability to enter his/her billable time in accordance with client billing guidelines;
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Dropbox;
- E-filing and fax filing in all courts;
- Summarizing medical records, depositions, discovery responses and documents produced; and
- Speaking with clients and witnesses (both expert and fact), conducting research, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
3+ years as Litigation Paralegal
Ability to work before or after traditional business hours when the need arises
