Thank you to Judge Dawn Amacker who spoke at our September CLE.

Our next CLE will be at 1 p.m. on October 15th via Zoom and our speaker will be the Clerk of Court, Melissa Henry, who will speak on “Updates and Changes within the Clerk of Courts Office”.

Dear Family Court Practitioners

Please note that pursuant to Governor John Bel Edwards’ Amendment to State Emergency – Hurricane Ida Proclamation, Number 170 JBE 2021, all legal deadlines, including those found in Title 46 (the Hearing Officer enabling statute) are suspended until September 24, 2021. Therefore, the deadline for any objection to Hearing Officer recommendations do not begin to run until September 27, 2021. For any Hearing Officer recommendations issued between September 13 -24, 2021,1he objection deadline will be no earlier than October 4, 2021 (5 business days after September 27, 2021).

The position requires legal experience and an ability to interact and communicate well with clients, draft legal correspondence, written discovery, organization of medical records and legal files.   • Pugh, Accardo seeks an attorney licensed in Louisiana with a minimum of five years of insurance and workers’ compensation defense and litigation experience. The candidate must have excellent academic credentials and be skilled in the following areas: researching various legal issues; drafting pleadings and memoranda in support of motions; conducting depositions and inspections; appearing in court and arguing motions; and assisting in mediation and trial. First chair and appellate experience a plus. Attorneys with greater experience, or who seek a lateral position in the insurance and workers’ compensation defense section, are welcome to apply too. Some travel, almost exclusively within the State of Louisiana, is required.
