The 22nd JDC Bar Association will be hosting our annual all-day CLE on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Southern Hotel 428 E. Boston Street, Covington, LA 70433. This seminar has been approved by MCLE for 6 hours of credit, including Ethics and Professionalism.

  • 08:30 – 09:00 Registration and light breakfast provided.
  • 09:00 – 10:00 “Getting to Know the US Attorney’s Office: An Update on Federal Prosecutions and Ongoing Strategies to Combat Crime” presented by US Attorney Duane Evans
  • 10:00 – 11:00 “Useful and Easy Legal Technology and the Future of Litigation as Technology Grows” presented by Gordon Herrin
  • 11:00 – 11:15 Break
  • 11:15 – 12:15 “General Purposes Of and How to Get Involved with the Specialty Courts for the 22nd JDC” presented by Specialty Court Administer Shannon Hattier
  • 12:15 – 01:15 Lunch: Buffet Service (included in price of registration)
  • 01:15 – 02:15 “1983 Litigation,” presented by Chadwick Collings
  • 02:15 – 03:15 “Professionalism: Keyboard Warriors – Unprofessional Legal Communications and How To Deal With Them” presented by Michael DeShazo
  • 03:15 – 03:30 Break
  • 03:30 – 04:30 “Ethics: What is ethically allowed in the courtroom” presented by Judge Reginald Badeaux


Registration is essential to prepare for the food and handouts needed, so please submit your application by Friday, November 10th. For members, the cost of this CLE is $225.00, if paid before November 11th. If members pay after November 11th the cost is $275.00 and material will be emailed to you after the CLE. For non-members, the cost is $325.00 if paid by Friday, November 10th and if paid after November 11th the cost is $400 and material will be emailed to you.
