Thank you to Judge Scott Gardner who spoke at our April CLE.
Congratulations to Thad Minaldi who won the iPad raffle.
Our next CLE will be at 1 p.m. on May 21st via Zoom and our speaker will be District Attorney Warren Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery will speak on “Prosecution in the Age of Covid”.
The cost for members is $15 and $25 for non-members. Please click on the link below to register and pay for the CLE. You will receive the Zoom log-in link with your paid receipt. The deadline to register for this CLE is 11:00 a.m. on May 21st.

Congratulations to Judge Scott Gardner for being named CASA Judge of the Year by Louisiana CASA!
We are proud to say Judge Gardner, who hears foster care cases in the 22nd Judicial District Court in Covington, was nominated for this statewide honor by YSB CASA.
Louisiana CASA Judge of the Year recognizes a judge who has advanced the best interests of children through support of the CASA model. Judge Gardner is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. And he is a big believer in YSB CASA, a program that trains volunteers to be a voice in court for these children.
MASK MANDATE

LIAISON WITH THE CLERK’S OFFICE
There will be a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday May 4th, at 4:00 p.m. at the Law Office of Kasi Brannan to discus the formation of a committee to liaison with the clerk’s office. Everyone interested is invited to attend.

MEMBERSHIP
If you have not paid your 2021 membership dues yet, they are now past due, the cost is $75. Those who have not paid dues prior to May 30th will be removed from our email list.

WEBSITE LISTING
The Bar Association website is not only the place to quickly look up everything going on in our Association, but is also our attorney referral source. The Bar Association receives many calls from the public and this is where we send them to find an attorney; as well as other attorneys who may be looking for you. So, please fill out the on-line form to be included; this must be done every year to keep it current.
Basic Listing: Lists your name, phone number and address and is free with your current membership dues. This information must be filled out by you.
Premium Listing: Lists your name, phone, address, link to website and area of practice, and is only $50 per year. (look for ways for a discount price on your membership form).

We will feature several attorneys on our website each month. There are only 4 available spots each month. This advertising will be seen by website visitors and anyone looking for an attorney. The Bar Association receives many calls requesting referrals for attorneys, we send them to our website. Your firm could be one of the first things seen when our website is visited.
